At Pearson, promotion pages are usually built by people with limited HTML knowledge, using outdated methods (fixed-width, table-based layouts). We need a modern, future-friendly method of building responsive pages that will easily fit into our existing workflow.
I broke this into 2 tasks:
- Educating our product people about the benefits of responsive design, and showing that their existing designs could be adapted to a responsive design that could adapt to any viewport size
- Wireframing a tool that could allow a user with a limited skill set to build a rather complex page
As of late summer 2014, this tool has yet to be rolled out, but I’m still working to make it a reality.
